A WEBHEAD MEETING IN CALIFORNIA
(July, 2003)
Fellow Webhead Elizabeth Hanson-Smith and her husband Jack picked me up from the airport in San Francisco and took me back to an apartment they share there. The view was wonderful (see right). I was lucky to actually see the view on the first day because the next day fog covered it completely.
We visited a botanical garden, the world famous China Town, and Coit Tower.(left) From here you can see fantastic views of the city and the parts of the bridges that aren't covered in fog. Later we had lunch down by the water in Sausalito and on the way Elizabeth took this photo of me below near the fog enshrouded Golden Gate bridge. And of course we drove down one of San Francisco's famous windy roads. (below left)

Next day we headed off to Sacramento where Elizabeth actually lives, and got there just in time for July 4th (American Independence Day) celebrations. We went to a BBQ at friends of Jack and Elizabeth, then later Elizabeth and I enjoyed the evening fireworks from the end of their street. During my time in Sacramento I had a great time walking around their pretty and peaceful neighbourhood and enjoying a high speed Internet connection. I think I'm now hooked.

On my last day there we took a river taxi up the Sacramento River to a restaurant for lunch, and the photos above and left show us on the return journey.

Thank you Jack and Elizabeth for your wonderful hospitality and warm and stimulating company.
